Xcite Innovation Call

As part of their joint initiatives on co-innovation with the industry, Land Transport Authority (LTA) and Enterprise Singapore (ESG) seek innovative solutions to help enhance productivity and efficiency in transport operations and maintenance.

Background

Led by Land Transport Authority (LTA) in partnership with Enterprise Singapore (ESG), the Accelerating Co-Innovation for Transformation and Export (Xcite) innovation call aims to work with the industry to develop innovative solutions that leverage technologies such as artificial intelligence, image analysis and automation to help enhance productivity and efficiency in transport operations and maintenance. 

We invite start-ups, SMEs, institutes of higher learning (IHLs) and research institutes to showcase your innovative solutions to drive transformation in Singapore’s land transport sector.

Innovation Call Briefing

LTA is organising a virtual briefing on 17 September 2021, 9 am to 12:30 pm via Zoom. Interested companies are strongly encouraged to attend the briefing where LTA and ESG will share more details about the innovation call statements. Sign up now via the Register for Briefing button above.    

Why Participate

Solution providers will have the opportunity to collaborate with LTA to develop and pilot solutions before scaling up the developed solution. 

Eligibility

This call is open to all start-ups, SMEs, Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs) and Research Institutes (RIs)*.

Grant eligibility: 

All Singapore start-ups and SMEs can apply for ESG’s Enterprise Development Grant (EDG) if they fulfil the following criteria:

•    Be a business entity registered and operating in Singapore
•    Has a group annual sales turnover of not more than S$100 million; or have group employment size of not more than 200 employees 
•    Have a minimum of 30% local shareholding
•    Be in a financially viable position to start and complete the project

For the National Innovation Challenge (NIC), all Singapore registered companies are eligible to participate in the NIC problem statement. Awarded participants stand to benefit from up to S$2 million in co-funding grant support at various stages from prototype, deployment to adoption. Up to S$1 million is allocated to selected enterprise(s) in solution development projects. The remainder of up to S$1 million is allocated to support the industry adoption of the co-developed solutions. Enterprises can qualify for co-funding support on qualifying costs for Singapore-based expenditure / core development activities in Singapore.

*Non-Singapore registered business entities, IHLs, and RIs may partner a Singapore start-up or SME that fulfils the above criteria for grant support. 

Evaluation Criteria

The submitted proposals will be evaluated according to the following criteria:

•    Technical feasibility and innovation of the solution
•    Business feasibility of solution 
•    Capacity and expertise to execute the projects
•    Clarity & comprehensiveness of proposal and test plans
